Dancing with Parkinson’s online Leeds & Bradford

Ascendance have re-designed their dance classes for the Leeds & Bradford community with Parkinson’s Disease to keep smiles on peoples’ faces during social distancing.  It keeps individuals moving in a fun, welcoming environment whilst safe relating.  Options are given to modify for various levels of mobility.

Professionally trained instructors guide movement which incorporate a range of styles from around the world.  The exercises aim to enhance and maintain mobility, flexibility, balance, posture, coordination and strength with creative input from participants if desired.

Saltaire Zoom Dance class
1.30-2.30pm Saltaire
9.30-10.00am Bradford ‘Open Zoom class’
10.30-11.30am Leeds Zoom Class

  • Ensure you dance space is clear from obstruction, are there any hazards nearby? including any bags, wires, furniture and pets. 
  • If using a chair, ensure that the chair is stable.
  • Have a drink to hand and take regular drink breaks during the session if required.
  • Wear suitable loose clothing that you can move freely in.
  • Have a telephone nearby you with your emergency contact stored.
  • Provide a current emergency contact for your dance leader to phone in an emergency.
  • Ensure that your tutor is are of any medical issues that may affect your ability to take part.
  • Only do what you feel comfortable with, rest if you need to.
  • No recording of on-line classes or sharing without obtaining permission first with all members.
